#Oh!bike at Kickstarter campaign!

#Oh!bike at Kickstarter campaign!

While I was on a business trip in China during June, I received news from the Delta Design Awards I felt so happy for the Oh!bike Factoria Startup and their team as they won the gold prize in the mobility category.

I and my studio are also happy for them and the small collaboration we did at the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017 in a “brain-shaping” phase in cooperation with their internal team. We would like to congratulate their team, as they developed a concept very successfully. Most of the times the good designs which remain in time are the most difficult to develop.

Besides the awards, I personally believe that the most important matter is to emphasize what is good about a product. For this reason, I tested one of their consumer testing bikes for a full day (this test is available and free to everyone who signs up via web or call).

I tested the bike within the city of Barcelona from their Shop at Diputació 286, to near Arc de Trionf, Sagrada Familia, all Diagonal until our Studio near Camp Nou, up to Collserola, Esplugues and back to their Shop. Our designers also had the chance to test it and see how easy and practical it is to use. For me, one of the best things about the e-bike is the way they have combined the electric power with your personal cycling. Cycling with this bike seems very natural even though you are being helped by the electric motor.

For those who don’t know, Barcelona is not a flat city, it has uphills from the Port until Montjuic and Tibidabo. For this reason, it is very helpful to get assistance on your cycling, even if you are in good shape. What they call the Bionic behavior of the bike, is one of its key features. Its pedal-assisting power adapts in each moment to your needs, making the trip by bike very comfortable.

During our all-day test, we also tested its power limit by cycling a few km uphill and using the boost button. The feeling is incredible, riding the bike uphill is as easy as riding it on a flat area.

In case you run out of battery or forget to charge the battery at night, the e-bike can run without it as it’s a very lightweight bike. In my opinion, its weight is also one of the key points of the design.

Thanks to its weight and the combination of hydraulic disc brakes, belt transmission, and an internal hub gear, oh!bike is more practical than all the other bikes available in the market.

There is no better way to show your support for a project, that becoming a consumer. For this reason, I became a backer and purchased a bike through their Kickstarter campaign which started on Sunday. I want to encourage you to be part of the backers community and take advantage of the discount available only during the campaign, which ends at the end of July ’18.

Congratulations to the Oh!bike team, we know it has not been an easy ride to bring this unique product to the market!
